URBN

Self-Directed

Illustration + Design

In fashion, what goes around comes around. Trends emerge and reemerge in cycles, a pattern that fascinates me as a fledgling designer whose own work is oft-influenced by the past. The concept of taking something old and making it new again appeals to me. So, as seventies textiles and silhouettes return to runways and retailers alike, I attempted to translate these trends into marketable materials for social media, specifically Instagram. I reconfigured the Urban Outfitters logo so a vinyl record rests where the “o” would, a nod to its recent resurgence in consumer culture. Additionally, I’ve mocked-up a set of stories.
